Blush Pink

Home Styling, Inspiration, interior design, Uncategorized

As if I needed an excuse for home shopping…or any shopping for that matter.

I have just moved house so have the perfect opportunity to purchase some new home goodies.

Blush pink is currently fashionable and popular throughout the home, with some examples in the photos below.

I am a huge white and grey decor lover in my own home, so I thought bringing in some colour would jazz things up a little and work with the current trend.

For this post I am focusing on blush pink bedding sets, inspired by the beautiful pink tulips I bought last week.

I had always associated pink with being really girly, of which I am not, but when mixed with the right materials, colours and accessories pink goes from being girly to chic.

Here is my shortlist of bedding sets!

I will start with my favourite (above) – The Design Project by John Lewis No. 144 Bedding is a stonewash cotton. The texture is luxurious and cosy, annnd texture = easier to iron and less likely to show creases! What’s not to like?!

Above is the Washed Linen Bedding in Soft Blush by Cox & Cox. I just want to sink into this bed.  This image is bang on trend with the metallic accessories and charcoal cushion.

Plain and simple. Gray & Willow ‘Halston’ bedding range. Gray & Willow bedding is lovely quality and reasonably priced. There are often promotions in House of Fraser, too. Some cushions are probably needed to break up the block colour, but it looks great against the grey headboard.

Another House of Fraser bedding set – this one by Linea. 200 thread count Egyptian Cotton so will be dreamy to sleep under. Again, without texture the bed needs some cushions or a throw to break up the block colour, but the tone of pink is soft and warm-looking.

Coincidentally all of the above images combine the blush pink with wood materials and grey and white tones. The combination is contemporary and chic.

Can’t wait to hit the shops!

Snow Day!

Waking up to snow the morning after your work Christmas Party is a welcome way to dust off the cobwebs.

I also love an opportunity to take photos.

You’d never know these photos were taken behind a business park just off junction 16 of the m4 would you?!

Without appropriate footwear and with the fear of being stranded and unable to get home to our pyjamas and a duvet afternoon, this was as adventurous as we managed to be.

The Great Interior Design Challenge is back!

A very brief post to celebrate tonight’s the return of one of my favourite interior design shows – The Great Interior Design Challenge. BBC2.

Above is one of my favourite designs by last year’s winner Sarah Mitchellan. The fabrics and colour tones are just stunning.

My Tuesday-Thursday evenings are now happily filled for the next few weeks 🙂
